Signatures Extended Stay Program
Need a little extra time before bringing your puppy home?
Our Extended Stay Program is designed exclusively for families who have reserved a puppy from Signature’s Miniature Dachshunds and would like additional time for their puppy to continue developing in the environment where they were raised.
This is not traditional boarding. It is an opportunity to provide your puppy with additional structure, routine, and social development during an important stage of growth.
Why We Offer Extended Stay
At Signature’s Miniature Dachshunds, we believe the weeks following a puppy’s first transition away from their littermates are incredibly important. While 8–10 week old puppies are ready to begin bonding with their new families, they are still very much babies and are not expected to be fully crate trained or potty trained at this age.
As puppies mature, their ability to understand routines, develop independence, and process structure increases. Puppies between approximately 10 –18 weeks of age are often more developmentally prepared to build stronger foundations for crate training, potty habits, and confidence.
Our Extended Stay Program allows us to continue that foundation in a familiar, safe, and structured environment before your puppy transitions home.
What Is Included
During an Extended Stay, your puppy will continue receiving individualized care while we work on:
• Crate training foundations
• Potty training routines
• Confidence and independence
• Age-appropriate socialization
• Continued handling and exposure to everyday household routines
Our goal is not to promise a “fully trained” puppy. Puppies are individuals, and training is a lifelong process that continues once they join your family. Instead, our goal is to give your puppy the strongest possible foundation to make the transition into your home smoother and more successful.
Health & Safety
Because we frequently have young, unvaccinated puppies on our property, we maintain a closed environment for the health and safety of our dogs and litters. For this reason, we do not board dogs that were not bred by Signature’s Miniature Dachshunds, and we do not allow outside dogs to leave and return for boarding.
The Extended Stay Program is only available for puppies purchased from Signature’s Miniature Dachshunds.
If you choose to participate in the Extended Stay Program, your puppy will continue receiving age-appropriate veterinary care through our veterinarian, including vaccinations as they become due. Your puppy will go home with updated veterinary records.
